Parental Bereavement Act of 2011 (S 1358)

Colin,

I do not want to turn your piece of cyberspace into a political pulpit, but for one post, I think a message does need to be sent to our government. While I was fortunate enough to have lots of leave accrued and a very understanding support network at my job, many other Mommies and Daddies are not so blessed. So, in order to get our government leaders to help these parents, your Daddy has placed a widget for supporting the Parental Bereavement Act of 2011 (S 1358) in the right hand column of your blog. There is also a link to the web site in the previous sentence.

Your Daddy is also asking family, friends, and anyone who visits your blog to please share this link or post the widget on your own site. Without going into all the gorey details, the initial few weeks and months after your death were so difficult, troubling, horrific at times, and almost impossible to navigate that all your Mommy and Daddy wanted to do was be together to cling to each other and Ava. The passing of this act will ensure that parents are given that opportunity without worrying about something as unimportant as going back to work right away.

Thanks for sharing your space. Now it is time for Daddy to put away the soap box and just say...I love you!

I miss you very much!
Daddy
