The Interview

Colin,

Daddy finished the interview yesterday around 5:00 p.m. and while tough at times, your Daddy shared some very real, open, raw, difficult, and honest thoughts and feelings regarding your death and they way SIDS parents are often viewed by the media and general public. Hopefully Daddy's words will provide a perspective that few people get to hear because they are either reluctant to ask for fear of actually getting a very real answer or have already prejudged SIDS parents as having done something wrong and thus being bad parents and people. Daddy is sure that when to article is published that there will still be ignorant and inflammatory comments, but that goes with the territory. Maybe though, just maybe, some of those people will pause for a moment and think about what it must be like to be in the shoes of a SIDS parent who now have a dead child and no conclusive answer as to how or why their child died. If only one person changes their mind and gives comfort and support instead of scorn and disdain, then reliving the night you died and all the feelings after it for that very long hour yesterday will have been worth it.

I love and miss you very much!
Daddy
