Mr. Stevenson

Colin,

Daddy is going to take a little time to thank someone who your Daddy now considers a friend, Crocker Stevenson. Crocker is the journalist from Wisconsin that your Daddy has referenced a few times over the course of the past few months. He has been an unbiased advocate for preventing SIDS, and all other forms of infant death. He also has listened to Daddy's story through a few conversations and a formal interview. The funny thing is that Crocker and I did not get off to a good start when I got angry at him for sharing what your Dad considered an irresponsible NPR article. Back then, the anger was a bit closer to the surface ready to boil over, and Crocker gave me the ammo. Now, however, he has helped to share your story to other parents who may have never spoken up or never felt as if anyone else knew the heartache of not only being a SIDS parent, but the shame and blame often felt due to the cruelty and judgmental nature of others. For all of this, your Daddy has grown to like and respect Crocker and the work he is trying to do.

So, to Crocker, a very heartfelt thank you from Colin and me.

And, to you Colin, much love as always!
Daddy
