Baseball Playoffs

The baseball playoffs are here, and the Orioles are looking like a pretty good World Series favorite. I have been staying up way too late watching games that are on the west coast, and sometimes falling asleep due to the fact that they run so late into the night. An extra glass of wine does not help with staying awake, but sometimes that extra glass takes the edge off of thinking too much. While the intense pain is no longer at the surface, it is times like this that are reminders of what could and should have been. You should be brushing up on your stats and listening to your crazy dad yelling at the TV when the umpire blows a call, or jumping off the couch when some Oriole hits the game winning home run, but instead I sit alone, late at night watching a silly game that, at the end of the day, does not mean a whole lot, but just makes people feel good. Hopefully the Orioles can pull out 8 more wins and raise a long overdue World Series banner, and hopefully the baseball playoffs will stop making your daddy think so much about what should have been. It isn't good for anyone…especially me.
